McCormick Home and McCormick Dementia Services Awarded Three-Year Accreditation for Quality Long-Term and Dementia Care

LONDON, ON — McCormick Home and McCormick Dementia Services have been successfully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for a three-year period.

According to CARF, this decision “represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows substantial conformance to CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer-review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.”

McCormick Home, a long-term care facility established in London in 1892, and McCormick Dementia Services, a dementia support program that offers the largest adult day program in Ontario, have participated in accreditation reviews for nearly 40 years. This latest accreditation represents the second with CARF, which, in addition to long-term care, accredits specialized areas such as adult day programs and dementia care.

By pursuing and achieving accreditation, McCormick Home and McCormick Dementia Services have demonstrated that they meet international standards for quality long-term care, adult day programs and dementia care, and are committed to pursuing excellence in care delivery. This review also included a positive evaluation of the board governance model at McCormick Care Group.
