McCormick Home Update
Tuesday January 30th, 2024
We have received confirmation from the Middlesex-London Public Health Unit that Maple Grove is in a
confirmed COVID-19 outbreak. The outbreak on Memory Lane continues.
General visitors are asked to postpone all non-essential visits to residents, and all residents are to remain
in their home areas for the duration of the outbreaks except for medical, palliative or compassionate care
reason. Essential caregivers can continue to visit outbreak units, but are to only visit with one resident at
a time.
Residents will be cohorted into smaller group sizes during activities. N95 and goggles are to be worn
when in an outbreak home area. Residents who have been deemed high-risk contacts will be monitored
for symptoms twice per day and wear a mask if tolerated. In addition, they are to physically distance
themselves from others as much as possible when outside their rooms.
Symptomatic visitors will not be permitted entry into the home. Visitors who become symptomatic while at
the home should leave immediately. In addition, we have enhanced our cleaning and disinfecting
practices.
Please do your utmost to follow all infection prevention and control practices to prevent the further spread
of infection.
