We are extremely pleased to announce that Gail Collins is our 2023 Employee Values Award winner!  This year’s award focuses on the value of Excellence, which is described in the McCormick strategic plan as follows: We use current research evidence and best-practice guidelines to improve the care we provide. We advocate for system change. We bring our best to work every day and lead by example. We are adaptable and creative. We strengthen our teams and celebrate their successes.

Gail is a registered practical nurse and has been with McCormick Care Group since 2010. Her roles and areas of expertise are wide-ranging and include infection prevention and control, and continence. In 2021, she assumed the role of BSO lead. Her contributions throughout her time at McCormick Home were highlighted by one nominee as follows: “Gail has always been a co-worker that everyone can trust and be comfortable around. She is down-to-earth, funny, and always willing to listen. Over the years, she has built many meaningful relationships with both residents and families…Her most recent work as BSO lead is inspiring…Communicating and collaborating with psychiatrists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families, Gail has made a strong contribution in improving the psychological wellbeing of the residents at McCormick Home.” Congratulations, Gail! We would also like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate a peer as well as to offer our congratulations to all our nominees. Lastly, we’d like to express our appreciation to all McCormick employees who strive for excellence toward ensuring the safety and wellbeing of not only our residents, and clients, but also of their peers, families and Care Partners, as well as our own students and volunteers.
