McCormick Resource Centre
Two new support services were developed this past year at McCormick Dementia Services. The McCormick Lewy Body/Parkinson’s Disease Dementia Caregiver Support Group is the only one of its kind in the region that provides caregivers with the particular information they need to assist them in their role. Also new this year is Powerful Tools for Caregivers – an enhanced education workshop offered in partnership with the South West Self-Management Program that provides practical, hands-on learning opportunities for participants.
Overnight Respite at McCormick
Overnight Respite care at McCormick Dementia Services is currently offered for two or four nights from Thursday to Monday. Clients are assured of a daytime program space to allow for a continuous stay from Thursday at 9:30 a.m. to Monday at 7:00 p.m. The program is available to all dementia adult day program participants in the South West Home and Community Care Support Services, regardless of whether or not they attend the McCormick Day Program.
