On-Site Day Program – Helpful Information
McCormick Day Program offers a wide range of services tailored to individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Our Dementia-Specific Day Program provides compassionate, person-centred care in a safe and engaging environment.
We also offer a variety of Care Partner Supports, including:
- Support Groups (both in-person and virtual)
- Educational Series (both in-person and virtual)
- In-Services
- Webinars
The day program is open 7 days per week, except for statutory holidays. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We can be reached by phoning: 519-439-9336.

Client Schedules
At this time clients are able to attend the day program on average 1-2 days/week. Upon admission to the day program, the individual’s assigned Social worker will reach out with an offer of one week day, with the option to increase to two days, once the client is settled into the program. Drop off and pick up times for our programs are as followed:
Day Program
- Drop Off – 9:30 am
- Pick Up – 3:00 pm
Afternoon Program
- Drop Off – 2:30 pm
- Pick Up – 8:00 pm
Extended Hours
- Pick Up – 6:30 pm
At this time we are unable to accommodate early drop offs and late pickups. We are however, able to accommodate varying drop off and pick up options with in the specific program times listed above.
Typical Day
When clients arrive to the day program, they are welcomed into the program spaces by our wonderful staff team. Clients attend on specific days every week, which allow them to become familiar with the team members and other clients they will see throughout their time here. Throughout their day clients will get the opportunity to engage in a variety of social, physical and cognitive activities in a safe and secure environment.

Snacks and Meals
Upon arrival to the day program clients are offered coffee or tea and cookies.
Clients attending the day program are provided with lunch, while clients who attend our extended and afternoon program are provided with dinner. Clients staying for overnight respite are provided with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day.
The kitchen is able to accommodate clients who require modified textures (regular, minced, soft, puree) and fluids (regular, thickened), as well as dietary limitations (religious, allergies, specialty diets, health conditions).
Personal Care
Our nursing team is available at all times, to provide any level of personal care assistance required (from supervision in the washroom to full mechanical lift for transfers and product changes).
Baths and showers can be booked for an additional fee.
At this time additional services like foot care are not available.
Medication
All client medication and supplements must be stored with our nursing staff during their stay. These medications, including over-the-counter medications, must be prescribed by a physician/nurse practitioner, and must be in their original labelled bottles or a blister pack. Our staff cannot administer medications that are not in the accepted packaging.
This rule applies for both respite and on-site day program attendance.
Any clients requiring the use of oxygen therapy must also provide physician orders, or the oxygen supplier instructions, for its use.
Fees
The following fees include snacks and meals as outlined above:
- Day Program (9:00am – 3:00pm) – $13/day
- Bussing – $13/day
- Extended Hours (3:00pm – 6:30pm) – $10/day
- Afternoon Program (2:30 – 8:30) – $13/day
- Overnight Respite – $30/day
For clients interested in accessing our spa (bath or shower), additional fees apply.
- Bath – $25
- Shower – $15

Transportation
Clients’ are able to arrive to the day program through transportation provided by one of their Care Partners or through the use of our contract transit service, provided by the Boys and Girls Club. To request the use of bus transit, please reach out to our administrative assistant.
Reporting an Absence
To report all absences at any time, please all our main telephone line 519-439-9336. Please leave a detailed message if our staff are unable to answer your call.
Day Program fees and bussing fees are still charged in the event of an absence.
If you would like to discuss discharging from the day program, please speak with your assigned social worker.
