We are pleased to share an in-depth look at our founder, Mrs. Ellen Gregsten, who served as our first president when the Women’s Christian Association was established in 1874.

Many courageous, pioneering women worked together to assist the most impoverished and forgotten in our society. The impact of their efforts resonates in our work today as we focus on improving the quality of life for those living with a dementia diagnosis.

This presentation is the latest in our offering of Women’s Christian Association presentations that outline our history from 1874 to 1999.

I encourage you to review the acknowledgements at the end of each one, as it was largely the efforts of a number of authors, researchers and reporters over the years that proved invaluable to this project.
