About McCormick Home
McCormick Home is an accredited, not-for-profit, long-term care home that has served London and area for more than 130 years. We serve adults, primarily the frail elderly, who require a range of personal and health services, and who are no longer able to live safely and independently in the community. Our home creates an environment that encourages residents to be as active, independent and involved in life as possible.
The Home
McCormick Home at 2022 Kains Road is situated at the corner of Commissioners Road and Oxford Street in west London. The home operates 160 long-term care beds through funding from the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
Built on an eight-acre rise of land overlooking protected forests, the home offers a beautiful view to the east and south.
Families of residents and participants in the McCormick Day Program are able to access the site from two of London’s main roads.
A total of 160 long-term care residents are cared for in five Resident Home Areas: Memory Lane (dedicated dementia care wing), Maple Grove, Oak Avenue, Willow Ridge and Evergreen Walk.

Life Enrichment Programs
At McCormick Home, we understand that enjoying quality of life involves staying mentally, socially and physically active. Our Life Enrichment team offers a variety of creative programs to meet the physical, cognitive, social, cultural and spiritual needs of our residents. Residents are encouraged to maintain their current interests while exploring new interests and opportunities within the home.
Residents’ needs are important to the implementation of relationship-centred care. Specialized programming for those living with dementia has an important role in our home. Small groups, hands-on activities, music, gardening and household tasks are an essential component to meaningful activity. Our home also recognizes the need for providing residents with a sense of purpose and well-being.
Our resident ambassador program involves a small team of residents who welcome new residents. Watering plants, delivering newspapers and maintaining our daily date and weather boards are examples of resident roles within the home.
Daily and monthly calendars are posted on each floor and are also available at the reception desk for families. Monthly calendars are available online.
Spiritual and pastoral programs are coordinated with various community clergy and include Bible studies, hymn sings, worship services and pastoral visits. These programs are also supported by the home’s chaplain.
Residents are encouraged to invite family members and friends to activities and special events within the home. “A family that plays together stays together.”
